About Dr. Bledsoe
I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA. I received my master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA. I have been trained in a wide range of theoretical orientations including psychodynamic, interpersonal, narrative, cognitive-behavioral, and dialectical-behavioral.
After graduating from college, I received my master's degree in Counseling Psychology and began working as a high school counselor. After 4 years of being a school counselor, I was interested in pursuing my doctorate so that I could work independently in private practice as a psychologist.
Half of my private practice is devoted to general concerns and life issues--including relationship issues, grief & loss, depression, anxiety, and stress management.
The other half of my private practice is devoted to eating disorders and body image concerns. This is a specialty I have developed over the last 10+ years and feel passionate about.
I work with adults and adolescents, both men and women. My approach to therapy involves a combination of insight-oriented exploration to determine the root of one's issues, as well as a concrete and practical approach to symptom management and behavior change.
I encourage new and current clients to feel free to ask me any questions they feel are relevant.
